I’m finishing the research and development phase for Invisible City, a project inspired by the Calvino book. The project will take place in Spring 2012, in Minneapolis’ North Loop neighborhood, assuming everything falls into place. I owe a special thanks for Forecast Public Art for their support during this phase. It’s been really helpful to have this time to work on the logistics, meet property owners, and test out technological approaches to the work. It’s rare to have financial support during the development phase of a site-specific work. In my experience, you usually come into production with a closed, predefined idea, or work up something during the project phase that can end up being a shoe-horn into the sites you end up working with.
